     There has never been a better time to live in harmony with nature utilizing astrology than our current era of technological breakthrough. For decades astrologers have been at the forefront of computer development, always searching for new ways to speed the complicated mathematics that are required, especially for any complex analysis. Today, astrology software programs have made this heavenly art-science accessible to all.

     In my astrology practice, I constantly use a wide variety of programs for techniques to aid in delineation. In seconds, I can cast natal charts and multiple subsidiary charts that would otherwise have taken many, many hours to calculate by my predecessors. With the computer I can look at a situation from a variety of perspectives which previously were too time-intensive for use on a regular basis. If it weren't for the computer, I would not be a professional astrologer today; it would be too tedious.

  I am a computer-assisted astrologer with the universe at my fingertips, and it is indeed exciting. The astrological reports that we can generate at Cheshire Rose (or you can produce using your own computer) are a great place to start. Thankfully, however, they do not replace reputable astrologers, who draw their own conclusions from various charts and data. Computer text can give you a great introduction to your chart and the world of real astrology (as opposed to the sun-sign newspaper horoscopes) at a reasonable price. The most popular reports we generate are the Astrological Profile, which includes a chartwheel and interpretation ($40), Compatibility Report ($25), and SkyLog Forecast Report ($35-$50) depending on the length of the forecast). We have other reports prepared by computer too, but all these interpretations have limitations in that they can only pull information from a database, requiring you to summarize the sometimes conflicting statements.

     For a complete picture, you also need a live astrologer to interpret your chart (some dead astrologers are useful, but only in books). And with the dawn of computer technology, there is an overabundance of information to synthesize. A good astrologer knows how to weigh the relative importance of all this data to give well-tempered conclusions.

  As a techno-astrologer, I am constantly faced with all sorts of questions. An initial chart reading includes an interpretation of your birth chart and an often much-needed look at the landscape of the life in general, emphasizing now and the year ahead. Electional astrology is used to find the best times to begin any endeavor, whether it be getting married or starting a business. Synastry gives an understanding of the dynamics of any relationship, and profound growth comes from the interaction with people most important in our lives. The most ancient of all is horary astrology - - answering a question based on the moment it is asked. Long ago, before the concept of an individual birthchart, people sought out astrologers, who answered their questions based on the current planetary and other symbolic conditions. Modern horary astrology can be remarkable in its accuracy, and again various computer programs provide instant calculations in a format that aids the astrologer immensely.

     Locational astrology, for relocation on a permanent or temporary basis, is an area that is now easily accessible thanks to computer technology. With the touch of a few keys, maps can be shown and reports printed that explain the influences of a particular location. These tools give important clues as to the "whys" of a particular place.
