- What Astrology Is Not!
Like many areas of traditional science, astrology works even thought we don’t know how or why. There is so much misinformation and superstition -- come and learn the positive side of today’s astrology. Through a discussion of the astrological worldview this class presents a positive, supportive perspective on why astrology works, using both historical and modern examples as well as quantum physics. Learn the difference between various approaches to astrology and begin to work with the idea of meaningful coincidence or synchronicity. - The Natural Zodiac
Just as critical as musical scales on the piano, but easier, learning your astrological "scales" through the natural zodiac -- the basics of elements (fire, earth, air, and water) and modalities (cardinal, fixed, and mutable) -- is absolutely fundamental to learning the art of chart interpretation. This class builds each astrological sign from the ground up, including sign rulerships, so that you can begin to create your own interpretations. - The Planets are the Players
Your Sun sign is important, but the Moon and Ascendant signs are just as critical, and all the planets have an important role in your birth chart. Which planets are personal, which are social, and which are transpersonal? The astrological meaning and the astronomical traits of each planet and their cycles will be examined in detail. - Energy and Aspects
Aspects, the geometric relationships between the planets, play an important role in how planetary energy is actualized in a person’s life. Time and again, astrological aspects have proved themselves one of the most important principles of chart synthesis. This class focuses on discovering how to creatively actualize your chart by exploring the aspect divisions of the 360 degree zodiac. - In Which House do you live?
In addition to the 12 sign divisions of the 360 degree zodiac, your birth chart has 12 house divisions, each of which describes a different department of life. Even a house that contains no planets is active and readable in a birth chart. This class will examine the 12 houses from traditional as well as psychological viewpoints. - Your Life Path: The Lunar Nodes
The north and south nodes of the Moon, by sign and by house, tell you a tremendous amount about the polarity you must learn to balance along your life path. Learn about these special points that work as strongly in your birth chart as the planets themselves. - Putting it All Together
Chart synthesis is the art of combining, into a meaningful whole, the symbolism and strengths of all the chart factors so far discussed in these classes. In particular, this class will show how planets, signs, and aspects work in the "whole chart," together producing a complete reading. Just like "Alice through the Looking Glass," your birth chart is a never-ending source of guidance, providing the frequently much needed gift of objectivity in your life. - Guess Who?
Using an overhead projector and a group of charts that contain certain common factors, have a great time quickly synthesizing the birth charts of the famous and notorious (inventors, billionaires, writers, etc.). Your ability to read charts increases steadily with the number of charts you delineate, and by the end of this course you will be surprised at all the astrological wisdom you have obtained.

covers learning to read the horoscope or natal chart -- the map of the heavens at the moment of your birth -- which is the promise of a lifetime -- and to which all other areas of astrology including relationship, "prediction," etc. are intimately connected. It is recommended that you take the entire series. Your own birthchart (provided with the class) is used as the basis for exploration.
