| The Coalescent chart is a relatively new technique invented
by Lawrence Grinnel (Dhruva). Coalescent charts are essentially harmonic horoscopes. The
planets' positions are determined by finding the shortest arc between the positions of the
same planet in two charts. This arc is then divided by 360°, giving the harmonic factor.
Either planet is multiplied by this harmonic (the result is the same regardless of which
one is used). Subtract 360 as many times as necessary to reduce the number to less than
360. That number is the correct position for the Coalescent planet or point. Win*Star
calculates a Coalescent chart with derived cusps and one with midpoint cusps (Coalesc2).
Win*Star can do either; it's just a question of the form chosen to display the charts. |
