Solar Fire 4

Solar Fire 4
Solar Fire, Version 4 It all begins at Solar Fire's main
screen, which is remarkably uncluttered for a Windows
program. Immediately you feel a certain calm and order,
a restful respite from information overload. And yet,
somehow, it's all there. You can immediately see the
current state of the program, what charts and options are
currently selected and every one of the huge array of
program functions is accessible from this deceptively
simple main screen's menu bar. How did such awesome
power get crammed into so simple and easy an interface?
The secret is consistency, and thoughtful, careful
planning. The data files that Solar Fire uses are simple,
straightforward, and, most important, similar to each
other. This means that once you learn how to select an
aspect set, for example, how to select any of the myriad
other options is pretty obvious. This simplicity makes it
easy to learn Solar Fire simply by nosing around with the
mouse. Bombproof and robust, Solar Fire makes it hard
for even determined klutzes to do damage. You can
always hit the F1 key for help with what you're currently
doing, and you can gracefully get out of anything by
clicking "Cancel" or "Exit" or "Quit." Calculation span:
Asteroids AD 1800-2050; other points unlimited.
Aspects: Includes 26 aspect types, each with its own
glyph. For each, you can select a color and the applying
and separating orb. You can have different orbs for the
luminaries vs. other points, and different orbs for natal,
transiting and progressed use. Desktop publishing: You
can export wheel and grid images to the clipboard as
bitmaps or Windows Metafiles, or to a file as Windows
Metafiles. You can also export lists as Windows
Metafiles; in DTP and word-processing programs you
can edit these as text. Natal and transit interpretations
can also be exported as ASCII text, which you can edit
and print in a word processor. Chart Import/Export:
Imports charts from JigSaw, Blue*Star, QuickCharts,
Kepler and any program that can output *.NOV chart
files, including Nova, Chartwheels and CCRS
Horoscope Program. Exports charts to any program that
can read *.NOV files. New features in Solar Fire 4
include a page designer, graphic ephemeris, multi-criteria
chart search, dial with movable pointer, transits to
midpoints, Arabic parts and fixed stars, transiting
midpoints, and 38 more asteroids. Solar Fire 4 does not
include any atlas, but the full ACS atlas is available at
reduced cost. Click here for full features list.
